Cleary University Names Michele Thompson VP of Enrollment Management

Cleary University has named Michele Thompson its new Vice President of Enrollment Management.

Thompson will oversee all admissions activities, including attracting traditional students as well as graduate and adult undergraduate students. She comes to Cleary from Japan’s Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, where she was senior manager, and more than 13 years before that as an admissions director for the University of Michigan’s School of Nursing and Ross School of Business.

“Michele is data-driven, strategic and stacked with years of experience in higher education and enrollment,” says Emily Barnes, Interim President. “She brings strong leadership skills and a sophisticated and technology-rich approach to enrollment. We are grateful to have her with us and are looking forward to the transformation she’ll bring to Cleary.”

In her higher education career, Thompson has served as Director of Admissions, Student, and Academic Services and Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Prior to working in education leadership, Thompson led global supply chain operations for semiconductor manufacturing at IBM, served as an education consultant in Japan, and worked in management consulting at McKinsey & Company.  She holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan.

“These are exciting times at Cleary University with many opportunities for growth,” Thompson says. “I look forward to working with the dynamic leadership team and talented admissions staff to implement a data-driven, enrollment management strategy. I am honored to help shape the future of the university.”
