A Seminar for Growth Stage Businesses

Business owners, this seminar is designed to show you methods of identifying, categorizing, understanding and eliminating chaos in your company — replacing it with value for your employees and customers.

Learn to identify your business’ weaknesses through an understanding of value versus waste, recognize and get to the roots of chaos and introduce a cycle of continuous improvement.

The seminar will be facilitated by Dr. Shannon Flumerfelt, Associate Professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership at Oakland University, an Endowed Professor of Lean Management, and co-facilitated by Stephanie Potter, Small Business Counselor with Oakland County’s One Stop Shop Business Center.

Dr. Shannon Flumerfelt, Ph.D.
Founder, Charactership Lean Consulting Inc.
While founder of Charactership Lean Consulting Inc., Flumerfelt has built a broad slate of clients and is skilled at working with businesses from a large variety of sectors. She is an endowed professor of Lean Management and serves in the Department of Organizational Leadership at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan. She has authored more than 100 scholarly publications and eight books. Flumerfelt specializes in lean organizational improvement and has conducted numerous workshops and speaking engagements.

Stephanie Potter
Small Business Counselor, Oakland County One Stop Shop Business Center
As a small business consultant with Oakland County’s One Stop Business Center, Potter has made it her mission to help small businesses succeed: From start-up to growth state, from concept to reinvention—and everything in between. She helps businesses in the areas of management, finance, marketing, strategy and operations. Potter has successfully managed two family businesses. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management from Walsh College, is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and is a certified ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor.
