Keena Thaxton, Diversity Recruitment Strategist, American Family InsuranceKeena Thaxton is a dedicated professional known as a ‘Paradigm Shifter’ and ‘Dealer of Hope’. With extensive experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), she currently serves as the Inclusive Excellence Program & Project Manager at American Family Insurance. Keena holds the Certified Diversity Professional (CDP®) certification from the Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC)®. She actively engages in Business Resource groups and collaborates closely with the Office of Community and Social Impact within her organization. Keena’s commitment to HR has led her to a leadership role on the Board of Directors for a local SHRM chapter in Illinois, where she serves as the Community and Social Impact Engagement subject matter expert (SME) and the Social Media and Marketing SME. Outside of work, Keena balances her professional life with being a devoted mother to three children and two rescue dogs. Her personal interests include self-development, writing, painting, astrology, numerology, mental health advocacy, dancing, traveling, and activities involving large bodies of water.
