On Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at the Ronald McDonald House, (4707 St. Antoine, Detroit 48201), The Association for Women in Communications – Detroit Chapter will host a panel discussion featuring some of the most notable non-profits organizations in the region.

The distinguished panelists will include: Jennifer Litomisky, Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House Charities (Detroit House) of Southeast Michigan, Nicole Gize, Director of Campaigns, Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation and Paula Brown Executive Director, Reading Works. Each of the panelists will share their insights on topics such as:

How to align your cause with potential corporate donor
What is the best way to engage the community in your mission?
Which causes resonate well with the public?
What’s the most profitable way to raise funds?

Jennifer Litomisky
Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House Charities (Detroit House) of Southeast Michigan
For more than 30 years, Jennifer has dedicated her life to the non-profit sector. She has been Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House since 2000, where she manages a staff of six, securing millions of dollars in pledges and donations to build and support the iconic “home-away-from-home” for families of critically ill children staying at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Jennifer earned her Masters of Non-Profit Management in 2000 and is a Psych Doctorate Candidate in Non-Profit Management.

Nicole Gize
Director of Campaigns, Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation
Nicole has been at Children’s Hospital for 2 years, but has been involved with media, executive events, and community and organizational outreach for many, many more. A Northwood University outstanding alum, Nicole began her communications career as a broadcast media account executive, and now works with individual donors to fulfill their philanthropic needs.

Currently, Nicole is facilitating a volunteer task force to identify potential campaign projects and leadership, working closely with all of the Hospital’s departments to build strategic partnerships within the community through individuals, corporations and the public sector.

Paula Brown
Executive Director, Reading Works
Paula Brown, CFRE has been a nonprofit professional for 30 years. Her career began with Junior Achievement of New York, and she worked in the New York/New Jersey market for 19 years before returning to her home state of Michigan, where she served as Chief Development Officer for Starfish Family Services. She is currently Executive Director of Reading Works, a collaborative backbone agency improving adult literacy in metro Detroit. She also has served on the Greater Detroit Chapter board of the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) since 2010 and is its Immediate Past President.
