Molly McDonald, CEO and founder of The Pink Fund, will share her secrets to successful event planning at a lunch-time seminar hosted by The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) Detroit Chapter.

The Lunch & Learn will be held on Wednesday, March 14th from 11:30 am -1:30 pm at the Nomad Grill located inside the newly refurbished Best Western Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn) at 26555 Telegraph Road, Southfield.

Molly McDonald, the high profile CEO and founder of The Pink Fund, will share the working mechanics of staging successful events. At the Lunch & Learn she will discuss tactics for reaching financial goals, organizing people and details, overcoming challenges, and assuring that the event is memorable for everyone attending.

Each year The Pink Fund provides over $650,000 to women undergoing 90 days of active medical treatment for breast cancer. The funds help subsidize daily living costs. The majority of the organization’s revenue comes from its signature event – Dancing with the Survivors.

It takes a full year of planning to stage the $150 ticketed event. In 2017 the event drew 325 people. Dancing with the Survivors requires the efforts of many including volunteers, caterers and dancers. Funds are raised through a silent auction, vendors and sponsorship from Ford Motor Company and other corporations.

“We can all learn so much from Molly,” states chapter president, Deniella Ortiz-Lalain. “She has tremendous experience in creating spectacular successful events that benefit the lives of many people. Her sense of entrepreneurship and creativity will inspire everyone attending.”

The Lunch & Learn program will begin at 11:30 am. Cost is $25.00 for AWC Detroit members, $35.00 for future members and $15.00 for students and recent graduates. Special thanks to Avis Ford for sponsoring this program.
