The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 6 – 11 p.m. at Palazzo Di Bocce, located at 4291 S. Lapeer Rd., Orion, Michigan, 48359. All proceeds from the fundraiser will support The Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation’s mission to award therapy scholarships to individuals who suffer from spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries.
“The work being done by The Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation perfectly aligns with the goals of The Recovery Project—to help those who have been told they’ve reached their maximum potential by doctors, other clinics or insurance companies when we know that there is more than can be done to improve the quality of life for these individuals,” said Swingle. “Over the past 10 years, the scholarships awarded by the Foundation have been instrumental in helping scholarship recipients walk again, live independently and generally improve their physical, emotional and mental well-being.”
The Foundation has raised more than $500,000 and awarded nearly 60 grants to date to assist individuals without health care benefits or other resources receive vital therapy care to improve strength, mobility, quality of life and the hope that goes along with striving for and reaching personal goals.
“Bocce Palooza is our biggest fundraiser of the year and a vital part of our ability to provide individuals life-changing care that would otherwise be unattainable,” said Charlie Parkhill, president of the Foundation. “We’re thankful for The Recovery Project and the other sponsors and attendees who continually make this event a success—and we’re looking forward to another great Bocce Palooza in 2018.”
Individual tickets for the event can be purchased in advance for $125, which includes dinner, drinks and entry into the Bocce Ball tournament.
