Gun Lake Investments, Alpena Developer Partner to Lead Next Chapter of Hot ‘n Now Restaurant

WAYLAND, Mich. — The beloved fast food restaurant Hot ‘n Now will add locations starting in 2025, thanks to a partnership of Gun Lake Investments (GLI) and Alpena business owner and developer Jeff Konczak. Doing business as HNN Holdings, LLC, the group acquired Hot ‘n Now in October and plans to add locations beginning in 2025 near Gun Lake Casino and Alpena, with other locations to follow.

Based in Grand Rapids, GLI is an economic development corporation wholly owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe. GLI manages a private, non-gaming portfolio of equity and debt investments in real estate and operating companies.

“We are thrilled to announce the brand acquisition and new stores alongside such a great partner,” said Monica King, Chief Executive Officer of GLI. “Our teams share big ideas, energy, passion and dedication, so we are eager for this collaboration to move to the next step.”

Konczak, a longtime business owner and developer in Northeast Michigan, owns B Cubed Manufacturing. B Cubed makes modular drive-thru buildings, most notably for Biggby Coffee’s B Cubed drive-thru locations. Using its ‘plug and play’ concept, B Cubed will design and build the new Hot ‘n Now standalone buildings.

“The Hot ‘n Now brand has a multi-decade history of providing value to consumers and their families,” said Jeff Konczak, Owner of B Cubed Manufacturing. “We are excited to partner with GLI on the brand acquisition, as they share our commitment to making our offerings accessible to families nationwide. Rather than limiting affordability to a few items, our entire menu will be priced to accommodate a wide range of households and incomes.”

With some updates, HNN plans to maintain Hot ‘n Now’s popular and affordable menu.
