Genevieve VangAbout #NAWBO member Genevieve Vang: Genevieve is constantly using her entrepreneurial skills to give back to the community and inspire others with her dynamic Thai-style cooking. Her award winning restaurant, Bangkok96, in Dearborn, MI, is consistently voted #1 Thai restaurant by the locals. Her commitment to healthy, innovative and high quality foods has brought her recognition even in Hollywood. The food that was prepared in the movie Gran Torino with the legendary Clint Eastwood was made by her. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience to be on set next to Clint. Genevieve became a refugee in Thailand for two years during the Vietnam War. She fled to Paris and later settled in Detroit. To spread the message of hope and beauty to the rest of the world, in 2011, Chef Genevieve created a gluten free frozen food line called Thai Feast to show the world how significant Thai cuisine has been to her life. Recently, she and her oldest daughter, Caroline Vang-Polly, created a new line of vegan, allergen-free broth and sauce powders where you just add water. Her products can be found on www.thaifeast.com.
