
Kmart’s iconic Blue Lights are about to fade to black.
The retail giant — whose Blue Light Specials featured a flashing blue orb designed to draw shoppers to a flash sale — is set to close its final full-scale store next month.
The store, located on New York’s Long Island, is scheduled to close Oct. 20, according to a report from The Associated Press.
When that happens, Kmart will have only a small store in Miami and a handful of stores in Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
In its heyday, there were more than 2,000 Kmart stores in the U.S.
