Hosted by the Michigan Association for Female Entrepreneurs (MAFE), the Women’s Leadership Forum is an annual event that brings together extraordinary women leaders from all social, economic and cultural backgrounds to exchange ideas and share collective insight on the unique strengths and challenges of being a woman. The theme for this year’s event is “Mobilizing Change through Female Empowerment.”

Held in honor of Women’s History Month, the Women’s Leadership Forum provides an inclusive and empowering platform for women (and men) that enable an open dialogue to discuss key barriers women face today, and an opportunity to share inspirational stories and action-oriented strategies for creating lasting change.

This year’s event features a panel discussion titled “Women of Social Change.” The panel will be comprised of women who founded social enterprises that are making a difference not just in our local community but around the world. Panel speakers include: Michelle Smart, Founder of Bags To Butterflies; Danialle Karmanos, Founder of Kids Work It Out; Marlin Williams, Founder of Sisters Code; Romy Kochan, Founder of Detroit Social Enterprise Alliance; Carolyn Cassin, President and CEO of Michigan Women Forward; and moderated by Master Leadership Strategist and Entrepreneur Dr. Geneva Williams.

Attendees will be inspired by the stories of women who have forged their own paths and are challenging the status quo. There will be ample time to network and inspire further action and continued dialogue. The event will conclude with a networking wine reception featuring complimentary wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
