Hot ‘n Now Owners Gearing Up for Summer Opening in Wayland

WAYLAND, Mich. – Gun Lake Investments and Alpena business owner and developer Jeff Konczak, the new owners of Hot ‘n Now, operating as HNN Holdings, LLC, are sharing new details as they prepare for the summer opening of the beloved brand’s Wayland area location and fall opening of a second location in Alpena.

The 737-square-foot drive-thru building, with its iconic red metal roof, is currently being assembled in Alpena by Konczak’s company, B Cubed Manufacturing, using its ‘plug and play’ concept, which allows for the structure to be manufactured off-site and assembled on location.

Once the Wayland location opens, it will operate from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, and from 10:30 am to 1:00 am Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is located at 1146 129th Avenue, directly behind GLI’s Noonday Market and across the street from Gun Lake Casino.

While the building is being completed, the team’s culinary staff is putting the finishing touches on the kitchen setup, including the installation of state-of-the-art cooking equipment that will cook the food rapidly while delivering the great taste customers expect.

Patrons will see the restaurant’s signature items on the menu, such as The Olive Burger and Cheesy Taters, along with their wallet-friendly prices.

“The Hot ‘n Now brand has a multi-decade history of providing value to families, so we intend to honor that history in this next chapter with our hyper-value focused pricing,” said Monica King, CEO of GLI.

Based in Grand Rapids, GLI is an economic development corporation wholly owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe. GLI manages a private, non-gaming portfolio of equity and debt investments in real estate and operating companies.

“Rather than limiting affordability to a few items, our entire menu will be priced to accommodate a wide range of households and incomes,” said Jeff Konczak, Owner of B Cubed Manufacturing. “We are confident that consumers will see this new chapter as the logical next iteration of the Hot ‘n Now brand.”

Konczak, a longtime business owner and developer in Northeast Michigan, owns B Cubed Manufacturing. B Cubed makes modular drive-thru buildings, most notably for Biggby Coffee’s B Cubed drive-thru concept.

HNN Holdings is set to begin construction of its Alpena location soon, with an expected opening date in October. The company has not announced plans for future locations but is actively exploring opportunities.

The company has launched a website, www.hot-n-now.com, where consumers can stay updated on construction, view the menu, and receive notifications about future announcements.
