Central City Health Launches Youth Mental Health Services

DETROIT — Central City Health, a Detroit-based nonprofit and Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home, is deepening its commitment to accessible, high-quality, integrated healthcare with the launch of its Youth & Children’s Outpatient Mental Health Services. This new program is designed to support the emotional and behavioral well-being of young people ages 6 to 21.

While not launched specifically in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the announcement coincides with the national observance and reinforces the urgent need to address youth mental health with early, community-based solutions.

“Far too many young people in our community are facing emotional and behavioral challenges without access to the care they need,” said Dr. Kimberly Farrow-Felton, president and CEO of Central City Health. “By offering dedicated outpatient mental health services for youth, we are meeting families with empathy, expertise, and a commitment to early, effective intervention.”

CCH’s Youth & Children’s Outpatient Mental Health Services will be available at both of its Detroit health center locations: in Midtown at 10 Peterboro St., and the newly opened 3rd St. Health Center at 1240 3rd Street in downtown Detroit. These services are delivered through an evidenced-based care team model. Working together, the team provides compassionate, integrated care to help youth, and their families, build resilience and navigate life’s challenges.

CCH emphasizes early intervention, family involvement, and a holistic approach that addresses emotional, environmental, and social factors influencing mental health. Health center hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with same-day appointments and walk-ins welcome.
