AISIN Corporation, a top 10, global Tier One supplier of automotive components and systems, today announced that John Fontes has been promoted to vice president, Sales & Marketing, North America for AISIN World Corp. of America (AWA).
As vice president, AWA Sales & Marketing, Fontes oversees the interface between AWA and AISIN’s North American plants to meet quality, delivery and customer satisfaction standards. Fontes and his team are principally responsible for OE sales, maintaining overall customer relationships across all product groups and product planning in North America.
Fontes began his career at AISIN as a sales engineer in 2007. Most recently, he was general manager, OE Sales and Marketing, responsible for engine, drivetrain and chemical for body as well as function, electronics, and safety products in the company’s Seating Business Group.
In 2003, Fontes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Engineering Sciences from Michigan State University’s College of Engineering. He replaces Brad Owens, senior vice president, who now leads the AWA Purchasing and Business Administration departments.
