DETROIT, Feb. 18, 2020 – One of the community’s most historic non-profit educational organizations, St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center (SVSF), is teaming up with Redford Theatre for a special “Celebrate the Center” movie event on Saturday, April 18.
The “Celebrate the Center” event gives SVSF a chance to thank and honor its volunteers, supporters and donors, as well as members of the families who benefit from their wide range of community services. This year families of all ages are invited to the movie day at the historic theatre on Lahser Road.
Individual tickets for Celebrate the Center are on sale now for only $5 (general seating). Tickets for a VIP kid friendly party are $40 each. The VIP package includes: movie ticket, a private tour of the theatre, priority seating (arrive to theater at 3:15 p.m.), a private, kid-friendly reception with refreshments and a keepsake picture with Detroit’s “Willy Wonka.”
Doors open for general admission at 3:30 p.m. and the first 500 guests will receive a free chocolate bar. One lucky winner will find a “Golden Ticket” to win four VIP tickets.
Costumes are welcome for the movie, and any guests who show up in costume (children or adult) will be part of a contest to win four VIP tickets and a feature in the fall St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center Newsletter (awarded after the movie).
The event will include a brief program highlighting St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center right before the movie begins. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with the winner announced after the movie.
VIP guests are asked to check-in at a special table in the theater lobby to receive a wristband for entry into special reception. All guests can enjoy a cash-only concession stand with proceeds benefitting the Redford Theatre.

About St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center
St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center began in 1844 as St. Vincent’s Academy in Detroit, a kindergarten for orphaned children. Now celebrating its 175th year, the organization has grown and evolved, which included a move to Farmington Hills before coming back to its roots in Detroit. Although it closed its residential doors in 2006, it still continues to fulfill its mission of serving at-risk families by providing free, personalized educational support for children and adults. These programs are designed to help build self-sufficiency skills for academic and employment success, personal achievement and dignity. Visit http://www.svsfcenter.org/ to learn more.
