In business, disruption is often code for innovation — and in Detroit, disruption brings Quicken Loans to mind. On Thursday, May 23, Quicken’s VP of talent development, KimArie Yowell, will keynote “Transforming Disruptive Innovation Into a Competitive Advantage,” hosted by the nonprofit Great Lakes Women’s Business Council (Great Lakes WBC). The half-day event includes a panel discussion with “Women Who Broke the Mold” and is followed by a VIP tour of Detroit.
Featured panelists include Adrienne Bennett of Benkari LLC, Jaime McAlear of Bluewater Technologies, Kylie Quetell of Rock Connections and Neetu Seth of NITS Solutions. Communications strategist Karen Dumas is mistress of ceremonies.
The event is a program of Great Lakes WBC’s new executive leadership initiative, execWE. Sponsors include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE Energy, FCA, Flex-N-Gate, Ford, Quicken Loans, Toyota and U.S. Small Business Administration.
“It’s a power-packed executive leadership session offering strategies for innovating to achieve success, along with great networking,” says Michelle Richards, Great Lakes WBC executive director.
“Transforming Disruptive Innovation Into a Competitive Advantage” takes place from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Quicken’s Madison Building offices, located at 1555 Broadway in Detroit. An exclusive Downtown Detroit tour experience follows from 12:30-2 p.m.
The $65 cost includes breakfast and refreshments. Register by May 17 at greatlakeswbc.org/execwe.
