DEARBORN, Mich. — Services To Enhance Potential (STEP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting inclusion and providing employment and training opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers, announced the appointment of Nouran Zohdy as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Zohdy brings over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance to STEP’s executive team, along with a broad range of leadership expertise and a valuable international perspective.
Before joining STEP, she served as the Finance Manager at the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, where she led a team of accounting professionals, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, and ensured compliance with complex government funding requirements.
“We are excited to welcome Nouran to our STEP Family. She brings diverse knowledge to the role and will assist us in achieving our future goals for growth in serving more people with disabilities,” said Dr. Sara Grivetti, STEP Chief Executive Officer.
Zohdy holds an MBA in Professional Accountancy from Utica University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Cairo University.
“I’m honored to join STEP as CFO and contribute to an organization that is making a meaningful impact in our community,” said Zohdy. “In my first year, I look forward to strengthening financial operations, enhancing transparency, and supporting STEP’s mission through strategic fiscal leadership.”
Outside of her professional life, Zohdy is a proud mother of two college athletes, Mahmoud and Aly, both of whom play collegiate soccer. She enjoys cheering them on from the sidelines with her husband Ahmed, the Dean at the University of Detroit Mercy. Together, their family is deeply committed to education and community service.
