Television Editor and Producer Aurora De Lucia makes her 1,000th Episode of Television

    Aurora De Lucia has made more than 1,000 episodes of television, airing on 33 networks. She’s averaged more than one per week for her entire career, which began during her freshman year in college; in March of 2009, she began as a PA on “America’s Got Talent,” seasons 4 – 6.

    In 2011, she became the set photographer on “Cake Boss.” From 2011-2012, she assisted in story departments on “Breaking Pointe,” “Majors & Minors,” and “Model Latina,” plus “Life Flight” in 2013. Additionally in 2011, she secured her first job as an assistant editor on “Swamp People,” and through 2014, kept working as an assistant editor on shows including, “I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’,” “Shahs of Sunset,” and “Ultimate Survival Alaska.”

    In 2014-2015, she undertook post-coordinating, producing, as well as some assistant editing. On Monday, March 14, 2016, she became an editor on “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” (promoted up from assistant editor). She edited there until the show went off the air on August 18, 2016.

    She then worked on TruTV’s “Greatest Ever” from Nightly’s cancelation through “Greatest Ever”‘s cancelation on May 26, 2017. From 2017 – 2019, she did a number of editing gigs including a stint on “The Daily Show,” then Vh1’s sketch show “Grown & Sexy,” then Will Smith’s social media, then Tastemade, and then was the lead editor on the talk show “Beauty and Bubbles” until its only season finished in Feb 2020.

    In 2020 and 2021, she served as editor and producer on “The Carlos Watson Show.” During that time, she also was an editor on LeBron James’ “Bear Witness, Take Action 2: Continuing the Movement,” a special about systemic racism and intersectionality, and on Ava DuVernay’s “Home Sweet Home” for NBC.

    From 2022-2024, De Lucia worked as a post-production supervisor on Martha Stewart’s series on Roku. In her career, De Lucia ascended from assisting on certain shows without a single female editor, to working as the supervising post producer and lead editor on her 1000th episode of television.
