Bikes Descend on M1 Concourse for the M1 Cycling Classic

Hundreds of bikes and cyclists from USA Cycling licensed professional racers to casual riders will descend on M1 Concourse in Pontiac along Woodward Avenue, for the M1 Cycling Classic on Sunday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In conjunction with the Cadieux Bicycle Club, guests can register their own bike for a race or watch and be immersed in the action of the cycling world.

The cycling-filled day will have a full line of events including a multi-lap criterium format race on the 1.5-mile closed track, starting with amateur races for all skill levels and concluding with elite races for men and women. Medals and cash prizes will be given to the top racers.

First time riders can take a spin on the short track, and so can families on the kids course in a safe environment for 30 minutes for no additional cost.

Also in the mix will be Fondo racing plus dirt track and mountain biking on an off-road course. eBike demos will be available on the dirt track and win track. A cornhole tournament will kick off with cash prizes for the top three teams.

Vintage bike displays, food trucks, and drinks from Jolly Pumpkin and North Peaks Brewing Co. will be on-site.

General admission tickets are $10 and on sale at https://m1concourse.com/m1-cycling
