The W.K. Kellogg Foundation has awarded New Detroit, Inc. $100,000 to support its Just Institute program. The Just Institute is a mission-packed social impact program that provides its participants strategies and tools to advance racial equity through individual, organizational, and institutional action plans and aligns the action plans toward regional collective impact.
The Just Institute includes a growing suite of industry-specific certificated trainings and customized consulting, all with the goal of ending racism by changing hearts and minds.
“New Detroit is delighted to welcome this grant from the Kellogg Foundation,” said Michael Rafferty, President and CEO, New Detroit, Inc. “This will help advance our programs which benefit leaders from all sectors and healthcare and hospitality professionals. As they use their new knowledge, skills, and action plans to change the way they approach racial equity in their work, the ultimate longer-term beneficiaries will be the people and communities of color that they serve.”
