CLAWSON, MI – Great Lakes Pot Pies announced that the company’s products are now available in 33 Meijer Supercenter store locations throughout Metro Detroit and all Gordon Food Services stores nationwide. This is in addition to being available at the store and over 150 stores across Michigan and its retail location.
What was supposed to only be a hobby, something Jannie Teitelbaum did part time during the week, blossomed into a thriving business. In 2016 she began crafting her own recipe for delicious pot pies and sold them at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. From those humble beginnings came a brick-and-mortar store in Clawson, the leasing of an adjacent space for more production, 12 employees, new offerings, pies being sold all over the state in independent stores, having them available at Meijer Supercenter locations in Metro Detroit, and at Gordon Food Services location nationwide.
“We launched our store in Clawson during the pandemic and sales were actually pretty good,” Teitelbaum said. “Because of most the restaurants being closed, people were looking for comfort foods they could heat and eat at home, and our pot pies fit the bill. Sales kept growing week after week and continued to do so afterward. Our goal is to one day be a national brand.”
