Jan. 26, 2010 – Recognizing that Michigan is on the cutting edge of many Green industry initiatives, Corp! magazine established the Going Green Awards in 2009.
This year many exceptional companies were honored for stepping up to confront environmental problems and are working to create more sustainable business practices.
The Going Green Award winners presented significant achievements in one of three categories. They demonstrated commitment to green and environmentally friendly practices, and contributions to technologies, products and services that promote green business strategies. Honorees were selected from these categories:
• Green Initiative Champion
• Green Industry Innovator
• Green Organization
The recipients of the Going Green Awards represented businesses and nonprofit organizations from throughout the state of Michigan. Corp! magazine, Michigan’s largest business magazine, will feature Michigan’s greenest companies and organizations in its January/February 2010 issue and online at http://tinyurl.com/yavlxes.
The Going Green Awards were presented at a breakfast program on Jan. 26, 2010 at MSU Management Education Center in Troy. The event featured breakfast, networking, exhibit booths and the awards presentation.
A panel discussion included insights on economic success, best practices and economic trends of the Green industry. Panelists included John W. Bul from Webasto Roof Systems, Inc., Lyne Downing from ecostore USA, Michael Kelly from Allied PhotoChemical and Jim Newman from Newman Consulting Group. The panel was moderated by Jennifer Kluge, Corp! magazine publisher.
The Corp! Going Green Awards was presented in cooperation with title sponsor Allied PhotoChemical and event sponsors Safety King, MITechNews.com and Leadership Oakland.
