On Oct. 7, 1001 Inventions: Untold Stories from a Golden Age of Innovation will debut at the Michigan Science Center joining just three other U.S. locations – New York, California and Washington, D.C. This exhibition showcases the diverse spectrum of bold thinkers and new technologies that were produced by this multi-faith, multi-cultural civilization, reaching from Spain to China during the period leading up to the European Renaissance, an era often referred to as the “Dark Ages” in Europe.

Through more than 60 interactive exhibits, short films, live science shows, hands-on workshops and learning resources, MiSci visitors will be introduced to the golden age of Muslim Civilization, a time when men and women of different languages, faiths and cultures worked together in harmony, building upon knowledge of ancient civilizations and achieving breakthroughs that still influence our world today.

Entry to 1001 Inventions will be free for the general public and all school groups with paid general admission. General admission includes access to 250+ hands-on exhibits, live stage shows, lab activities and more. The exhibition will be open from Oct. 7, 2017 to Jan. 7, 2018.
