Kalamazoo Stout: Just Right After Cleaning Chimney

kalamazoo stout featured imageWhat do you do after you’ve climbed on your roof and cleaned out your chimney just in time to get your woodstove blazing before a late winter blizzard? You sit down and open a well-deserved stout. Kalamazoo Stout from Bells Brewery Inc. is the perfect brewed beverage for this bit of relaxation in my book. It’s also nice to have on hand for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The stout is offered year-round by Comstock, Mich.-based Bell’s, and is among many seasonal and specialty stouts they offer. Its roasty malt flavor is just right and enhanced with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and brewer’s licorice. Beeradvocate.com likes it too. They give it a 90, which is in its “outstanding” and “must try” range. The stout has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 6 percent.
